Having never seen the movie on a big screen in HD I spotted a bunch of stuff I've never seen before. I noticed that the big pump the Lion is carrying is labeled "Witch Remover", that's funny. I remember the giant butterfly net, but not the giant wrench the Tin Man is holding. What does he need an oversized wrench for if he already has an ax?

Is the Scarecrow holding a handgun?! He is! Look at it:
Has that been in the movie this whole time? Where did he get a gun? They have gun shop in the Emerald City? These are the people who wet their emerald green pants when the Wicked Witch sky-writes "Surrender Dorothy" and all this time they're sitting on an arsenal?
Am I the only one who didn't realize this was in there? What else have I failed to noticed in my childhood favorites? If I rewatch Mary Poppins will she pull a sniper rifle out of her bottomless carpet bag? I'm afraid to find out.

I remember seeing it only when we watched in class at school hahah. And everyone laughed.
ReplyDeleteIf the witch can be killed by water, don't you ever wonder why a bucket of it is in her castle? If you watch the scene very carefully, you can see in the background that it is for the commode, most likely used by her soldiers....they rush out to a tower that is high above a river...behind the witch is a bucket, brush and a one hole throne....

ReplyDeleteThey armed themselves before heading into the forest -- i'm sure they got whatever they needed, since the wizard wanted them to kill the witch -- then lost their weapons when they were attacked by the jitterbugs, a scene that wound up being deleted from the movie. in the next scene, when the witch sends the flying monkeys into the forest, she tells them she's sent "insects on ahead to take the fight out of them." there are only a couple of shreds of film left from the deleted scene. the producers decided they didn't like the jitterbug song and a dance of the same name had become very popular and so it was believed this would be a distraction. it does seem odd though to see all these weapons and then not see them a minute later.
