Thomas Doret for The Kid With a Bike
The Dardenne brothers were originally going to title this film The Pitbull and watching Doret's shockingly intense performance here you can imagine why. Playing a boy with a violent anti-social streak obsessed with tracking down his deadbeat dad Doret barrels through scenes, overwhelming even his more professional adult co-stars with his ferocious performance. It goes on a list with the great all-time kid performances.
