Whether or not Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close is one of the worst modern Best Picture nominees is up for debate. What is not as subjective is the fact that it is one of the worst reviewed films ever to grace the big category. Critics were waiting for this one with the brick bats and lead pipes, and yet there it sits right alongside critical darling Tree of Life.
