Oh, but even better was her reaction, "Six months isn't such a long time. Not *everyone* gets corrupted. You have to have a little faith in people."
ReplyDeleteThe whole scene guts me. But I go with this one because of the world of realization that hits him here. The way the life just drains out of his protest. He knows she's going and he knows it's the right thing and now all he can do is be sad to see her go.
