I like Moonrise quite a lot, but I had an easier time getting on board with your A Separation campaign last year. I think, generally speaking, this year hasn't produced anything that is really a cause for me. I have yet to see Holy Motors and Amour, two films I'm really looking forward to, and Frances Ha is postponed until next year. But I'm just not passionate about the films I've liked this year.
I *loved* Moonrise -- it just delighted me on every level. But I don't think it's everyone's cup of tea: When the lights went up, the woman behind me said to her friend, "What was THAT?" to which her friend replied, "I know. I HATED it." I think the Oscar voters generally are not that much more sophisticated than "unusual" equals "polarizing."
