The sound categories were particularly difficult for me to pare down to five each. Of the films not mentioned at all, I'd make the most earnest cases for Anna Karenina and The Turin Horse.
ReplyDeleteLittle outside Anna Karenina's visuals and Knightley's performance really stuck with me from that film, but then sound is one of those things you don't notice when it's done well. A second viewing could win me over to your opinion.
ReplyDeleteI'm, errr, overly inclined to most things "Anna Karenina" to be honest but I remember it well because it has one of my favourite sound-cues of the year. Anna's frantic fan seguing into the horses' hooves.
ReplyDeleteThe thing about 2012 is I think I'm mostly dispassionate about the films and then notice I have like 20 film long-lists for below the line categories like Sound Mixing and Cinematography.
